You asked - we answered
› Books
Does everyone always like the book they receive?
Not at all. In fact the very first book selected was so unpopular that many members struggled to finish it.
How do you select your books?
The girl who hosts the evening gets to choose whatever book she wants, no matter the genre!
› Bites & Bevies
What is your favorite bevie?
Perry's favourite is the "stiletto booktini"; Pat's is the pear lychee (reminds her of the orient) and Kathleen's is the Lemon drop. But there's more coming from the test kitchens!
What is your favorite bite?
Pat loves the tropical gazpacho for an instant island get-a-way; Kathleen adores the muflatta (reminds her of New Orleans); Perry is devoted to the grilled Caesar with its new twist on an old classic.
› Bon Voyage
Do you always theme your evenings around the book?
Absolutely not. If there's no time there's no theme. It only adds to the fun, it doesn't make it fun.
How far have you traveled?
We have traveled across Canada and the Unites States.
What was your favorite destination?
Perry's favourite was Vancouver, with its panoramic views from every street corner. Pat's favourite destination was Whistler Mountain as her son lavished our GGs with a gourmet lunch. For Kathleen it had to be Niagara-on-the Lake. (Read the book and you'll understand why).
When did you decide to start traveling together?
It happened by osmosis. After reading Atonement, Perry suggested we throw our passports on the table and take the plunge to travel off the pages.
› Blueprints
It is true that the destination is a secret until you get here? How is that possible?
Yes, it's always a secret for as long as the planner can keep it that way. It's only possible with a lot of trust from the GGs and our step by step method beginning on page 215.
- How easy is it to start your own book club?
It's as easy as making some phone calls. We had 3 people who called 3 friends and we met over a glass of wine to choose a book. Voila! We had our book club. But for a complete how-to, see page 190 in the blue print section.
